St Joseph's Parish Hall Hire
The parish is pleased to make its recently re-furbished kitchen and re-decorated hall available for hire to non-parishioners and local groups. The hall is a pleasant and comfortable venue suitable for both formal meetings and informal social activities.
Hall - The Parish Hall is attached to the main Church Building and consists of the main hall which is 22ft by 30ft and can accommodate up to 45 (seated) and 50 (standing) people. There are 15 square non-folding/non-stackable tables and one large folding table and 55 hard plastic chairs, which are all stored in the hall. The room has 5 patio style door/windows, with curtains, 3 of which are Fire Exits. The Hall has recently been repainted and further work will be carried out in the near future to improve access.
Kitchen - A new kitchen has been installed (Jan 2015) and has a new oven, hob, fridge, microwave and dishwasher. There is a mains fed hot water dispenser and crockery (dinner plates, side plates, small bowls, cups and saucers for 45 people) and cutlery (knives, forks, spoons, tea spoons) and glasses (wine and tumblers), water jugs and tea pots. Please note there are only pans and no oven dishes - users must bring their own.
Toilet facilities - There are two toilets, one for disabled/wheelchair use.
Disabled access - there is access for wheelchair users via the main and back entrance to the Hall
Parking - there is limited parking at the front of the church and by the back exit to the hall (10 places), with priority given to parishioners attending services at the Church, funerals etc.
Please note: the hall does not have internet access nor a phone line nor black-out curtains/blinds for the patio doors. It is not possible to store equipment or materials for individuals/groups using the hall.
HIRE CHARGES
BAND A
For groups using the Hall, with or without the minimum use of the kitchen - ie just for tea/coffee - the charge is £10 per hour.
BAND B
For groups using the Hall and using the kitchen for preparing or serving food, using crockery, fridge, washing up etc - the charge is £15 per hour
BAND C
For Business groups using the Hall - a set rate of £25 per hour.
NB: Booking times should include set up and clear up and it is important that groups vacate the building on time, so as not to hold up other users.
ACCESS
Access to the Hall is with a key, which will be provided to the person who is the 'hirer' of the Hall and details of how to collect and return the key will be given once bookings are confirmed.
Please note the management of the Parish Hall is undertaken by a small group of volunteers from the parish, who will do their best to make things work as smoothly as possible. Since this is a new venture for the parish a review of how things are working will take place at the end of September, so all bookings made for after that date will be provisional, so that any necessary adjustments can be made.
